Custom Content: problem with belongs_to field in frontend.

Hello,
I have created a custom module with a standard belongs_to (user) and User (has_many) relations ship. (field type is dynamic/User ID) When I create a record from a create publication the User ID field get's populated correctly in the backend. However the front end does not generate the details-link correctly:
cms:detail_linkcms:artist//cms:detail_link
The HTLM looks like this:
I can't access the belongs_to model at all from the list page. cms:artist:username/ gives me no errors, but webiva renders nothing. :/
